3 Things I Wish I Knew Before Starting My Own Business
November 6, 2015

Those of us looking to live the dream of working from home lay in bed at night thinking of all the amazing things you could do if you could just make enough money working from home.

While it is possible and I am now living that dream there are a few things I wish I would have known before I got started that would of made this entire journey a bit easier.

Number One – Build your list

Building your list should be your top priority no matter what niche you are going into building your list is key to building your first asset of your business. As your business continues to grow you will have an easy, cost effect way of reaching hundreds if not thousands of potential customers.

If your paying for traffic make sure you have a way to retain these visitors and get them on your list.

It is also a good idea to learn how to split your list into your free list and your buyers list. Taking extra care of your buyers list over time will result in massive gains for your business.

The tool I use for this of course is AWeber

Number Two – Having Startup Capital

If you don’t have start up money to start your business even if its a few hundred bucks you will find yourself trading in a ton of time trying to get ahead. Be sure before you dive into your home based business venture that you have some startup cash. Without it you will be fighting yourself a steep uphill battle one you very well might lose and give up on.

Set aside some money each month from your current job and use that to start growing your business and income online.

This money will come in handy for things such as server costs, domain registrations, hiring designers or programmers, ghost writers, auto responder, CRM and any other costs that might come with building the product and services you want to share with the world.

Until recent you had to have about 3-5 other programs and try to figure out how to connect them all together with programmers. However a new program is in town which pretty much eliminates the need for programmers and designers and makes it easy to do yourself. Number Three Time Management

There is only so much time in a day and figuring out how to sit your a$$ down and work with all the distractions at home can be a serious challenge.

If you can block off a room in your house and only do business in it (this makes for a great tax write off as well). This should greatly help to keep you focused and productive during the times you do set to work on your business.

These 3 tips above while they might seem simple will give you a huge advantage from someone who tries to start a home based business without any planning. Go get em and share your knowledge and products with the world their waiting!
