The general idea of the free plus shipping offer is to have a low cost product that is about $10 and offer it for free. The customer then only pays a shipping and handling fee which you set.
After this they are taken to some type of upsell that complements the original product to try and get the customer to buy more.
With the low entry point cost the conversion rates should be higher and your oto (one time offers) will either cover all advertising costs or create profit for you.
You can then split the leads into those who have bought and those who have not bought creating two separate lists in which you can create a follow up sequence for.
